Threads are surgical sutures attached to needles with different dimensions that allow for that insertion of the thread. After the insretion, the threads stays in situ in the skin and the needles is withdrawn.
There are three main types of threads used based on their structure; mono, cog and screw threads. Mono threads are smooth without barbs and are mostly used for scalp threading . Cog threads have barbs which hook onto the skin to provide support and lift the sagging tissue and they are not used for scalp threading . Screw or tornado threads have one or two intertwined threads around the needle and provide good volume restoration to sunken areas of the skin.
